Zionists don’t want to see ties between Iran, US: Political analyst

Zionists are trying to block US rapprochement with Iran, says Dr. Randy Short, an analyst and historian from Washington.

Zionists do not want to see any “rapprochement” between Iran and the United States and are “systematically” undermining diplomacy with the Islamic Republic, an analyst and historian from Washington says.

“It’s a travesty of so-called democracy that the Knesset and the Zionists, both Christian and Jewish and covert Muslims, aka the Saudis, who are also Zionists, have been able to use money and influence to corrupt the American political system to the point where a legitimate policy, where rapprochement can exist between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, has been systematically undermined,” said Dr. Randy Short.

Dr. Short made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday, when asked to give his feedback on the Congress’ decision to approve a bill that requires lawmakers to review and possibly reject an international nuclear agreement with Iran.

In a 400-25 vote, the House of Representatives passed the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015  on Thursday, which was passed a week ago by the Senate on a 98-1 vote.

The vote came as Iran and the P5+1 group--the US, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany--are working on the text of a final agreement over Tehran’s nuclear energy program.

Dr. Short touched on Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech in front of Congress back in March, saying that the entire address “was a signal” to President Obama, who is making “efforts to improve relationships with Iran.”

Netanyahu warned US lawmakers that the White House was negotiating "a very bad deal" with Iran.

Dr. Short said Iran's leaders have repeatedly denounced the construction or the use of nuclear weapons. “God bless Ayatollah Imam [Rohollah] Khomeini, who issued a fatwa while he was the Leader of Iran.”

The founder and leader of the 1979 revolution of Iran, Imam Khomeini, banned the making or use of nuclear weapons in a religious edict decades ago, which was reiterated again more recently by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Randy Shot said Iran has, over the years, been targeted by powerful Zionist lobbies because of its efforts to liberate Jerusalem al-Quds from the Zionists as well as bring unity and peace not just for Muslims but for all the oppressed people.

“As we know, Iran is the last country on the list of the ‘eight nations’ that the United States planned to destroy,” he noted.

Many in the US, according to Dr. Short, specifically neo-cons in Congress, are trying to prevent any kind of relationship that is not “bellicose between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

“All efforts are being systematically undermined because they do not want the development of a strong Iran because it is a regional and global superpower.  It’s the most progressive country in the Islamic world. However, in spite of the actions of the Congress and the Senate, Iran will prevail,” he stated.

Dr. Short concluded that the United States is continuing to “destroy its international reputation” and becoming “known as a nation that doesn’t respect human rights or minorities in particular African Americans.”
