British Muslims and UK elections

Experts say Muslims in the UK have the power to significantly influence election results in the UK and the Muslim vote is considered to be essential.

Historically, it has been said that Muslims have identified themselves mostly with the Labour Party. However, in 2010 fewer and fewer Muslims voted Labour. Experts say British Muslims have become increasingly disenfranchised with mainstream parties.

This was evident in 2012, in Bradford's by-election, when George Galloway from the Respect Party, scored a landslide victory by taking a Labour-safe seat in Bradford West.

Muslims in the UK are said to be facing an increase in Islamophobia; job discrimination is hence pushing them to look for what experts describe as an alternative. So with the UK elections around the corner, how will British Muslims vote?
