The 68th Cannes International Film Festival is set to screen “Nahid” by Iranian filmmaker Ida Panahandeh.

The social drama will have its world premiere at the French festival’s Un Certain Regard section.

“Nahid” is a production of Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center and recounts the story of a woman who faces a serious challenge following her divorce.

Panahandeh’s latest film is Iran’s only representative at the prestigious festival.

The Un Certain Regard section of the festival will screen 19 films, including “Fly Away Solo” by Neeraj Ghaywan (India), “The Treasure” by Corneliu Porumboiu (Romania), “Rams” by Grimar Hakonarson (Iceland) and “The Shameless” by Oh Seung-euk (South Korea).
