Germany calls for peaceful solution to end east Ukraine conflict

Russian president Vladimir Putin has accused the West of pursuing double standard.
Putin went on to say that applying the Minsk agreement will be hard, but Russia and Germany need to work together to influence all parties to help end the conflict. He supported the idea that only the OSCE will be able to apply the MINSK agreement in eastern Ukraine. The German Chancellor says both sides need to try their best to improve the situation in eastern Ukraine. Angela Merkel added that the Minsk agreement has so far failed as daily sporadic clashes are reported by the OSCE. She says the talks being held with Russia over the issue could help find a peaceful solution to the crisis.
