Iran top commander warns aggressors aginat ‘war on Iran’

Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the IRGC second-in-command

A senior Iranian commander has warned the enemies over a “war on Iran”, saying it would “mobilize the Muslim world”.

Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the second-in-command of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), made the remarks at a conference in the Iranian central city of Qom on Wednesday.

“War on Iran would mobilize the Muslim world against the United States and the enemy has become well aware of this point,” Salami said.

As a comprehensive nuclear deal appears to be emerging between Iran and the global powers, including the US, by the end of June, US Secretary of State John Kerry recently spoke of a military option still being on the table over the issue.

Last week, Kerry told Israel’s Channel 10 that Israelis should trust an “administration that designed and deployed the weapon that has the ability to deal with Iran’s nuclear program.”

The Israeli regime has also threatened Iran repeatedly over its nuclear energy program.

Salami's remarks come at a time when Iranian nuclear delegates are busy drafting the final nuclear deal in New York based on a framework agreement reached with the P5+1 – the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany – in early April.
