1. The secretary general of Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah says Saudi Arabia has failed to reach any single goal of its military aggression against Yemen.

2. Saudi Arabia’s consistent aerial and ground bombardment of Yemen rages on as Ansarullah fighters keep making gains in the country's south.

3. French President Francois Hollande is in the Middle East to hold talks with Persian Gulf Arab states. He claims his tour is to help bring stability to the region. But his massive arms deal with Qatar has cast doubt on his good intentions.

4. Iran and Russia have rejected Saudi Arabia’s decision to wage a war on Yemen as wrong. In a phone conversation, Iran’s deputy foreign minister and his Russian counterpart called for a halt to the Saudi aggression so that humanitarian aid could be dispatched to the impoverished nation.

5. French lawmakers have overwhelmingly approved a new controversial law granting the state sweeping powers to spy on its own citizens. 438 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill and 86 against the so-called French Patriot Act.

6. Austria has filed a lawsuit against an unknown entity following media reports that Germany helped the United States spy on its authorities and firms. Austrian Interior Minster Johanna Mikl-Leitner says Vienna demands clarification from Berlin in this regard.

7. The Greek finance minister says Athens expects no deal with its international creditors at their meeting in Brussels on Monday. Yanis Varoufakis said the upcoming talks would be a step toward a final agreement. Athens believes differences between EU and the International Monetary Fund are blocking compromises.

8. The European Commission slashes its economic growth forecast for Greece amid growing concerns as to whether Athens will be able to pay its enormous debts back to its creditors.

9. Protesters in Burundi dismiss a Constitutional Court ruling that cleared President Pierre Nkurun-ziza to run for a controversial third term.

10. A new report has raised deep concerns about the protection of the rights of foreign laborers in Israel. The report has found lack of cooperation between two Israeli offices responsible for authority over foreign workers.

11. A UN report says there are over eleven-thousand pending demolition orders issued by Israeli authorities against Palestinian property in the occupied West Bank. The official report shows that Israeli authorities issued more than 14-thousand demolition orders in Area C of the West Bank between 1988 and 2014.

12. Palestinian factions in Gaza have reacted to the new threats made by the former Israeli army chief of staff. On Monday, Benny Gantz said Israel is working on a new war strategy that helps Tel Aviv emerge stronger than ever in any confrontation with Palestinian resistance groups.

13. The UN has launched wide-ranging consultations in Geneva in a bid to revive stalled talks to end the Syrian conflict. The new effort includes consultations with regional and domestic players.

14. Fighters from the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah have clashed with gunmen from al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front in eastern Lebanon, killing at least 15 militants. A Hezbollah military source says its fighters ambushed Nusra militants on the outskirts of the mountain towns of Toufeil and Britel near the border with Syria. They also destroyed five military vehicles of the al-Qaeda offshoot.

16.  A car bomb blast in the Iraqi capital Baghdad leaves at least four civilians dead.  The bomb went off outside a hotel in Baghdad’s Karrada neighborhood. Police say over a dozen people were also wounded in the explosion. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. It was the second incident in Karrada since Saturday when 15 people were killed in a car bombing outside a popular restaurant. Saturday’s blast was claimed by the ISIL terrorist group.

17. The Iraqi Minister of culture has paid a visit to the Iranian capital city of Tehran to boost the cultural relations between the two countries
