At least 45 ISIL terrorists have been killed and dozens more injured in the latest wave of infighting between anti-Damascus Takfiri militant groups operating in Syria.

The deadly clashes broke out after a number of terror groups attacked the ISIL-linked Jaish al-Jihad in the southwestern province of Quneitra near the border with Lebanon, Turkey’s Anadolu news agency reported.

The report cited a militant commander as saying that several members of the terrorist group were also held captive by the rival Takfiris during the clashes.

This comes as rivalry continues within the ranks of the militants fighting against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

On April 22, a series of fierce clashes among terrorists in Syria’s troubled north left dozens dead. The infighting reportedly occurred between ISIL Takfiris and other terrorists over the control of several villages in Aleppo Province.

The growing wave of infighting among anti-government militants comes as the Syrian army continues to make more gains in its military operations to liberate more militant-held areas in the country.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 220,000 people, according to reports.

The Takfiri terrorist groups, with members from several Western countries, control swathes of land in Syria and Iraq, and have been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.
