Israeli forces have arrested at least five Palestinians during separate overnight raids on a number of houses across the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian security sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said 10 Israeli military vehicles rolled into Jenin refugee camp early on Tuesday.

The Israeli forces broke into dozens of homes and violently searched them, causing excessive property damage before detaining two Palestinians identified as 35-year-old Majdi Amjad Araqawi and Ayman Sami al-Rukh, 33.

The Israelis also stormed a number of Palestinian houses in the towns of Beita, located 13 kilometers (8 miles) southeast of Nablus, and Tell, situated five kilometers (three miles) southwest of Nablus, arresting two Palestinian men.

Israeli forces took away another Palestinian from the northern West Bank city of Nablus, located approximately 49 kilometers (30 miles) north of al-Quds (Jerusalem).

According to the Ahrar Center for Prisoner Studies and Human Rights, Israeli forces fatally shot seven Palestinians in the Palestinian territories and arrested at least 375 others, among them 55 children and 19 women, last month.

The Palestinian non-governmental organization (NGO) added that 113 Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces in East al-Quds (Jerusalem), while 86 were abducted in al-Khalil, 54 in Nablus, 40 in Bethlehem and 29 in Ramallah.

Israeli forces also arrested 26 Palestinians in Jenin, 11 in Qalqilya, four in Tulkarm and one in Salfit – all Palestinian cities in the occupied West Bank.

The Nablus-based NGO further noted that Israeli forces abducted 11 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in April.

In recent months, Israeli forces have frequently raided the houses of Palestinians in the West Bank, arresting dozens of people, who are then transferred to Israeli prisons, where they are kept without any charges.

There have been many reports about the deteriorating health of Palestinian prisoners held inside Israeli jails.

More than 7,000 Palestinians are reportedly held in 17 Israeli prisons and detention camps. Moreover, 540 Palestinians are held without any trial under the so-called administrative detention, which is a sort of imprisonment without trial or charge that allows Israel to incarcerate Palestinians for up to six months. The detention order can be renewed for indefinite periods of time.
