US salivating for return to Mideast: Analyst

Press TV has conducted an interview with James Morris, a Washington-based editor at America-hijacked.com, to ask for his take on the recent remarks made by American philosopher Noam Chomsky calling Israel and the US the biggest threats to world peace.

Morris says that the White House does not act out of its own interests when it comes to Israel, and Tel Aviv is in fact controlling the American government.

This, he says, became clearer during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington, where, during an address to the Congress, he even got more standing ovations than the United States’ President Barack Obama during his State of the Union address there.

Touching on the calls by neoconservatives in the US to send troops to Iraq for fighting ISIL terrorists on the ground, the analyst says the US is “salivating” to get back to Iraq. He points to the occupation of Iraq by Washington and argues that after destabilizing Iraq, it is now waiting to see the destabilization spill into the region so that it can stage a military comeback.

He concludes by saying that Chomsky is right in criticizing Israel and the US for being a threat to world peace, but he also needs to elaborate more on the role the Israeli lobby plays in the United States.
