Suspects of two shootings in Delaware remain at large

A sign posted at the front gate of Delaware State University.

The suspects of two separate shooting incidents in the US state of Delaware have not been found as authorities continue search.

Three people were shot and injured in Delaware on Saturday in the first shooting incident of that tragic night at the campus of Delaware State University.

The three victims of the first attack were hospitalized at a local medical center just miles away from where the incident happened.

Authorities from Delaware say that they are looking for the gunman who is on the run.

Police have advised thousands of students living on the university campus to stay inside their dormitories as it is being feared the shooter may strike again.

Several hours later, another shooting incident happened in the parking lot of the university campus, but no injuries were reported, said the university authorities.

They have told local media they do not know if the two incidents were related, but they are “definitely” investigating both incidents.

Delaware State University President Harry Williams said in a statement, “The safety of our students continues to be paramount and our police will aggressively continue their investigation until an arrest or arrests are made in this shooting incident.”

“No arrests have been made so far,” authorities said.

The Delaware State University campus has been prone to such incidents in the past. In November 2014, a student was shot in the same campus in what police officers claimed was a drug-related incident.
