International lawyer Mustafa Ansari says there are no unbiased courts in the United States to prosecute white police officers for the killing of black people.
“We don’t have real courts. When I say real courts we don’t have unbiased courts in the United States,” Ansari, Dean of the American Institute of Human Rights, told Press TV on Sunday.
He added that the police force has used this type of force against African-Americans for a long time.
The lawyer made the comments after a new video footage showed an unarmed US black man was shot dead by a police deputy who meant to stop him with a stun gun but instead used his shotgun.
The disturbing footage was released Friday disclosing the moments when Reserve Deputy Robert Bates, 73, fatally shot Eric Harris in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 2.
Bates and other deputies were taking Harris, a known felon, into custody after he fled from police during a sting operation.
“This particular video is really telling because the officer was extremely ignorant and very unlucky,” Ansari said.
The incident came as several other shootings, involving police officers killing black victims, have caused widespread protests across the United States in the past few months.
