Press TV has conducted an interview with Abayomi Azikiwe, an editor with the Pan-African News Wire in Detroit, to ask for his viewpoint on a US-supported Saudi aggression against Yemen.

Azikiwe argues that the Saudis are in a very difficult situation in Yemen and they have not been able to reach their objectives to weaken the Yemeni revolutionaries and restore Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, the fugitive former president, to power.

It is very clear that the Saudi kingdom needs assistance from regional forces and also from the United States to get rid of the situation in Yemen, he says.

The analyst adds that the United States has put a considerable amount of resources in Yemen, but despite all the interference in the Arab nation, Washington has failed to control the political situation in Yemen.

The (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council and Saudi Arabia are expected to face a “disastrous situation” in Yemen, unless they try to step up their diplomatic efforts to resolve the problem, he concludes.
