US irony of policing nuclear energy

It is “ironic” that the United States is “policing” which countries may get the potential for nuclear weapons while it is the “only nation that used nuclear weapons on civilians” itself, says  an American author.

“If you were wondering if a century of corporate propaganda and conditioning worked in the US, this is an ideal test case to recognize it,” Mickey Z. told Press TV on Wednesday, a day past a deadline to reach mutual understanding between Tehran and the P5+1 on Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran and the P5+1 group -- the US, Britain, France Russia, China, and Germany – got engaged in negotiations in an effort to reach an agreement that would limit the country’s nuclear enrichment program in exchange for removal of sanctions on Tehran.

The negotiators, holding talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne, were supposed to reach mutual understanding by late Tuesday as part of broader efforts to clinch a final agreement on Tehran nuclear activities by the end of June.

The West cites stopping Iran from gaining access to nuclear weapons as a reason for the talks while Tehran says it is pursuing non-military goals in its program.

The US would “happily” use nuclear weapons itself, for example in the form of “depleted uranium bombs”, to “prove its point”, said the author of “Occupy this Book”.

Meanwhile, the US is “ignoring” the nuclear program of countries like Israel despite its record for targeting civilians, Z. said, calling this an “ironic circle”.

A CIA report, leaked on February 20, disclosed that Washington tried to mislead the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about Iran’s nuclear program through the provision of doctored evidence.

The IAEA has also conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities but has never found any evidence showing that Iran's civilian nuclear program has been diverted to nuclear weapons production.
