Tikrit recapture major blow to ISIL: Commentator
Press TV has conducted an interview with Kevork Elmassian, an academic and political commentator from Beirut, on the recapture of the strategic northern city of Tikrit from the ISIL Takfiri terrorists by the Iraqi army and volunteer forces.
Elmassian believes this victory has strategic impact on both domestic and regional levels. He also argues that the liberation of Tikrit will increase national unity in Iraq and thwart all attempts by the United States and its regional allies to ignite a civil war in the country.
Elmassian goes on to say this victory is a major blow not only to ISIL but also to all terrorist organizations in the Middle East, adding that it will boost the morale of all forces who are fighting against this terrorist group.
