Sectarian motive behind Saudi war on Yemen: Academic

Press TV has conducted an interview with Lawrence Davidson, a professor at West Chester University, to discuss Saudi Arabia’s invasion of Yemen.

Lawrence believes the Saudi airstrikes against Yemen are a prelude to a ground invasion. He also argues that the root cause of this invasion is Saudi Arabia’s paranoia of more Shia-controlled areas, adding that it has seemingly made a “strategic decision” to prevent any such perceived action.

The root cause of the domestic crisis in Yemen itself is economic and social but the root cause of the decision to invade the country is sectarian, he says.
