Richard Forer: Washington’s stance on Palestine hypocritical

Press TV has conducted an interview with Richard Forer, a former AIPAC member, to get his viewpoints on recent remarks made by Denis McDonough, the White House chief of staff, regarding Palestine.

Forer believes that US President Barack Obama and McDonough sound sincere in saying they want the Israeli occupation of Palestine to end but never put those words into action. In fact, he says, all Washington does is enabling the occupation.

The analyst adds that despite what is being said about the United States pushing for a two-state solution, Obama firmly backs Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and that is another hypocritical policy on Washington’s part because Netanyahu has been openly opposing the two-state solution as well as the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Forer concluded that the way the audience reacted to McDonough’s statements is further proof of Israel’s increasing isolation under Netanyahu.
