A strong message to the Australian government from thousands of angry people with plenty to complain about.
Protesters armed with banners called it a day to unite with Australians all over the country as they marched from Sydney Town Hall to Belmore Park.

In a major public display of no confidence, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets. Each with their own issues, including the environment, education, and the federal government’s asylum seeker policy.

But an issue with even more urgency, the forced closure of remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia where 250 of them will no longer have electricity or water by July this year, something the government says it can’t afford to pay for.

Tony Abbott spoke on the topic saying that the remote communities are a lifestyle choice and the federal government should not be obliged to fund them. Something the senate has called on him to apologize for.

After surviving a leadership spill in February this year where members of his own party voted to not challenge his position, Tony Abbot has regained his confidence amongst his Liberal party members, but he had failed to gain the trust of the Australian public. The next federal elections won’t be until 2017, until then the thousands of protesters here say that things like their healthcare, education, and the wellbeing of the indigenous communities are under a continual threat.
