Israel lobby targets US presidents when they act like true Democrat leaders: Analyst

As the Democrat US president enters his lame duck phase, and starts acting like a true Democratic leader, he is undercut by the Israel lobby by getting him involved in scandals reminiscent  of the way Bill Clinton was undone by the Monica Lewinsky scandal, according to an American journalist and writer.

“This is what often times happens in America: When a Democrat is reelected as president in his second term, he likes to start act like a Democrat,” Dean Henderson told Press TV on Friday.

“It’s what Bill Clinton did. He did a lot of good things in his second terms which is why they sprang the whole Monica Lewinsky thing on him. Her father was actually a Mossad agent operating in Central America,” added Henderson, who has written several books, including Big Oil and Their Bankers in the Persian Gulf: Four Horsemen, Eight Families and Their Global Intelligence, Narcotics and Terror Network.

He emphasized that Obama has started to act “like a Democrat, especially in the realm of foreign policy, and he just needs to continue on this path.”

Western diplomats have confirmed that there are talks underway among the current members of the United Nations Security Council about the language of a resolution which would remove economic sanctions against Iran.

Commenting to Press TV, Henderson said, “It’s a good news. It’s a response to this letter by 47 US senators, initiated by Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas, who we now find out has received one million dollars from the Emergency Committee for Israel, which Bill Kristol’s launch – it’s sort of a reincarnation of the project for the New American Century, which is the neocon group that pretty much got us into their war in Iraq and the invasion that followed.”

On Monday, 47 Republican senators signed an open letter to Iran, warning that whatever agreement reached with the United States would be a “mere executive agreement” that could be revoked “with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time.”

According to reports, Tom Cotton drafted the much-criticized the GOP letter, which has drawn strong criticism from the White House and congressional Democrats.

Henderson said that “we see fingerprints of the neocons and the Israeli lobby behind this letter. In fact, some people even are saying that Bill Kristol might have written the letter.”

He added that Obama is “involved into this, and maybe be expediting these P5+1 talks, and announcing this: ‘Look, I’m the president. You can’t do this.’”

The letter appeared at a time when nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 countries - the US, Britain, France, China, Russia, and Germany- have entered a sensitive final stage ahead of the July 1 deadline for a comprehensive agreement.

A new round of talks between US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is expected to take place in Lausanne, Switzerland on March 15.

A petition to the White House demanding treason charges against the signatories of the letter has collected more than 280,000 signatures since Monday.

“What they did, many people say was the violation of the Login Act, could amount to treason,” Henderson said. “In fact, there have been almost 300,000 signatures to the White House basically saying, ‘Look, please prosecute these people for treason.”

“So, I think it’s a good news. It’s sign of they are not going to kowtow these Republicans at all,” he stated.

“It’s an indication of a really big shift in the US foreign policy in the Middle East,” Henderson noted.
