Press TV has conducted an interview with Zayd al-Isa, a Middle East expert, in London, to discuss the Iraqi army’s operations in Salahuddin against the Takfiri ISIL terrorists.

The political commentator says the Iraqi military operation to liberate the strategic city of Tikrit is significant as it is taking place without particular assistance from the US-led coalition purportedly fighting ISIL. He also highlighted reports that the United States has refused to provide air cover for Iraqi forces during the ongoing operations.

Al-Isa also strongly criticized Riyadh for funding and arming the ISIL terrorists and the Ba’athi elements currently operating across the militancy-riddled region.
