Four killed, five injured in Damascus terrorist attacks

A number of civilians have been killed or wounded in several terrorist attacks in the Syrian capital.

A 10-year-old girl was killed and five other civilians were injured when five mortar shells hit al-Sayida Zeinab area in the southern suburbs of Damascus, a police source told the Syrian Arab News Agency, SANA, on Wednesday.

Two civilians were killed after foreign-backed terrorists opened fire on a number of vehicles on Harasta highway, in Damascus countryside.

A woman also was shot dead by sniper gunfire in Abaseen area, in central Damascus, according to the news agency.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of 210,000 people, according to reports.

New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.
