New York-based academic says ISIL destruction of antiquities to justify US intervention

The screenshot of a video released on February 26, 2015 appears to show members of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group destroying antiquities at a museum in Iraq’s Mosul.

Derek Ford, a scholar and professor from New York, joined a Press TV interview to share his thoughts on a new video that appeared to show the ISIL Takfiri terrorists destroying ancient artifacts at a museum in Mosul, northern Iraq.

Ford believes such incidents are utilized to further justify intervention by the United States in the Middle East and to portray ISIL as not being bound by any sort of logic.

The academic argues that ISIL has been deploying a very tactical strategy, and its primary benefit is that the United States can go ahead with its agenda of destabilizing the region.
