The Iranian national soccer team is to take on South American outfit Chile in a friendly late March.

The Iranian Football Federation announced Thursday the two teams will meet on March 27, 2015 in Austria, according to IRNA.

The match would be held at 20 pm local time in NV Arena in Sankt Pölten, a city 94 kilometers south of the capital, Vienna.

Iran’s national soccer squad is 41st in the world and tops in Asia ahead of South Korea and Japan according to the latest ranking released in early February by the world football governing body FIFA.

The three-time continental winner reached the last eight of the recent Asian Cup games in Australia in January. Iranian footballers also featured in the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, but failed to ascend the group stage.

Chile, known as La Roja or the red one, has never won a major international title despite reaching the final match of the Copa America four times. The South Americans reached the last 16 of the two previous world cups in South Africa and Brazil.
