Press TV has conducted an interview with Ali al-Ahmed, director of the Institute for (Persian) Gulf Affairs, from Washington, to further discuss the current situation in Yemen.

The political commentator says the US, Saudi Arabia and some other monarchies of the Persian Gulf region are preventing the Yemeni parties and factions from reaching a national consensus aimed at overcoming the political impasse in the country.

Ahmed maintains that Washington and its Arab allies seek to carry outLibyan-style scenario in Yemen by setting up a parallel administration in the seaport city of Aden.

Such a scenario runs counter to a demand by Ansarullah revolutionaries for an all-inclusive government, the analyst argues.
