US travel warning for Israel ‘propaganda campaign’: Ex-CIA contractor

A new travel warning issued by the US for its citizens traveling to Israel and Palestinian territories is a “propaganda campaign.”

A new travel warning issued by the US for its citizens traveling to Israel and the Palestinian territories is a “propaganda campaign” to generate sympathy for Israel, a former CIA and NSA contractor says.

“This could be a possible false flag warning that could be directed towards American citizens or Europeans to try to generate sympathy for Israel and show the world that somehow Israel is the victim and we should all rally around Israel,” said Steven D Kelley.

“I think it is definitely a propaganda campaign and a precursor to a possible false flag,” Kelley told Press TV on Thursday from California.

The US State Department warned its citizens on Wednesday against traveling to Israel and Palestinian territories over an escalation of violence and security risks in that region.

The department said increased violence in Jerusalem al-Quds and surrounding areas has reached levels not seen in a decade.

“The security environment remains complex in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, and US citizens need to be aware of the continuing risks of travel to these areas,” the State Department posted on its website.

“A rise in political tensions and violence in Jerusalem (al-Quds) and the West Bank has resulted in injuries to and deaths of US citizens,” the statement added.

The new warning comes several months after the Gaza Strip faced a deadly Israeli onslaught. Last summer, about 2,200 Palestinians, including 577 children, were killed in a 50-day Israeli offensive, which started in early July and ended in late August.
