Hezbollah secy. gen. condemns ISIL’s execution of Egyptian Copts

Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, delivering a speech in commemoration of Hezbollah’s martyrs in Sayyed al-Shuhadaa Complex in Dahiyeh, south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, February 16, 2014.

Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, has condemned execution of Egyptian Coptic Christians by ISIL Takfiri terrorist group in Libya.

Nasrallah made the remarks in a speech delivered in commemoration ceremony of Hezbollah’s martyrs, Sheikh Ragheb Harb, Sayyed Abbas al-Mousawi and Hajj Imad Moughhnieh in Sayyed al-Shuhadaa Complex in Dahiyeh, located in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Monday night.

Condemning the brutality inherent in the execution of Egyptian Copts by ISIL, the Hezbollah leader extended his condolences to their families.

He urged all regional powers to put aside formalities and protocols and form a united front against terrorism, noting that the fate of the whole world is being determined in the Middle East region and Lebanon cannot disassociate itself from this fate.

The fate of Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Libya... are all interrelated, he added.

Head of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement also stated that Lebanon is still facing the repercussions of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.

Referring to foreign intervention in regional countries, Nasrallah slammed the countries that criticize Hezbollah’s stance on the developments in Bahrain, adding that countries that arm militants, including ISIL, in Syria cannot criticize Hezbollah’s position on Bahrain.

Those who criticize our stance on Bahrain should not interfere in other countries affairs, especially Syria, he noted.

Nasrallah said all world countries consider ISIL a huge threat, except the Israeli regime because ISIL agenda has immensely served Israel.

Emphasizing that the hands of Israel and CIA are evident in ISIL’s actions, Hezbollah leader urged regional countries and nations to join hands in confronting the threat posed by Takfiri terrorists.

He added that the brutality and violence of ISIL Takfiris has its roots in Hollywood.

Hezbollah leader went on to note that ISIL Takfiri terrorist group has targeted Islam because those who kidnap and kill innocent people cannot be called Muslims, and there is no difference between the ISIL and al-Nusra Front in this regard as both groups share the same ideology.

Nasrallah said confronting ISIL militarily and politically amounts to defending Islam and Hezbollah considers itself to be defending Islam as a whole.

Taking some regional countries to task for helping militants in Syria, Nasrallah said Jordan cannot fight ISIL in Iraq and support al-Nusra in Syria because terrorist groups are all different faces of the same coin.

Hezbollah leader also emphasized that people in the region must not wait for an international strategy to fight the Takfiri threat and everybody should have the initiative to face this threat.

As to Syria, he noted that Syrian crisis must be solved through a political solution because the Syrian government is ready for a settlement with the moderate opposition, but not with the terrorists.

Nasrallah said instead of urging Hezbollah to withdraw its forces from Syria, other countries should help it confront Takfiri terrorists not only in Syria, but also in other countries afflicted with this scourge.

I call on those who are urging us to withdraw from Syria to join us in our fight in Syria and let's go to Iraq and to any place to face off this threat.
