World experiencing ‘end to US hegemony’

The United States is a “falling” empire in the world that is experiencing the “end to US hegemony.”

The United States is a “falling” empire and the world is experiencing "the end to US hegemony," a geopolitical analyst in Europe says.

“The world is growing up and has changed its attitude towards the US, we’re seeing an end to US hegemony and the rise of multi-polarity,” said Joaquin Flores, director of the Center for Syncretic Studies in Belgrade, Serbia.

“The US empire is falling apart and it seems to be lashing out at the world, it is not trying to create dialogue with other parties and other partners in the world, but rather enforce its vision of a future by force of arms through aircraft carriers and through bombing campaigns,” Flores told Press TV during a phone interview on Monday.

Flores blamed the Obama administration for the deterioration of ties between Washington and Moscow following the crisis in Ukraine. The White House is treating Russia as a “rogue state or an illegal entity,” he stated.

The US and its allies accuse Moscow of sending troops into eastern Ukraine in support of the pro-Russian forces. Moscow, however, denies any involvement.

US President Barack Obama warned Monday that the West would not allow Russia to redraw Europe’s borders "at the barrel of a gun."

At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House on Monday, Obama said he was considering whether to send lethal arms to Ukraine but no decision has been made yet.

The United States and the European Union have imposed several rounds of sanctions on Russia, including visa bans and asset freezes. US officials have repeatedly threatened Russia with additional sanctions.
