The Interview: Stupid or revolutionary?

Back in December 2014, Sony Pictures came under a cyber attack after it announced plans to release the film The Interview which depicts a fictional assassination plot against the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un over Christmas holidays.

Washington blames the crippling attack on North Korea, but Pyongyang denies any involvement and has offered to jointly investigate the hacking.

Sony canceled the Christmas release of the film following threats of terrorist acts from hackers, but then put it out on limited release after the US President Barrack Obama said the studio was surrendering to North Korea.

President Obama also imposed a series of new sanctions on top North Korean officials and defense-related organizations in retaliation for the alleged cyber attack.
