Iranian police have arrested three terrorists in the southeastern province of Sistan-and-Baluchestan.

The terrorists were arrested during a clash with police forces in the region of Saravan on Thursday night, Fars news agency reported.

The police also confiscated some weapons and bombs from the armed bandits.

There are no further details yet available about the arrested terrorists’ plots.

Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province has been the scene of a number of terrorist attacks in recent years.

On January 1, an Iranian Sunni Basiji volunteer and a Shia teacher were killed in a terrorist attack in the provincial city of Sarbaz.

In late November 2014, three Iranian security forces were shot dead by unknown gunmen in the province.

Three Iranian police officers were also killed in early October last year when they came under attack at nighttime by armed bandits while on a mission in Saravan.
