Zionists have ‘infiltrated’ US political system: International lawyer
Zionists have “infiltrated” the US political system and are “directly interfering” in the country’s domestic policies, an international lawyer in Indonesia says.
Inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address the US Congress about Iran’s nuclear program was a “blunder” by US House Speaker John Boehner, said Barry Grossman.
“When Netanyahu addresses Congress on this issue, he will in effect have been given a platform and a voice which few elected US politicians are afforded,” Grossman told Press TV in an interview on Thursday.
The Israeli Premiere “will be directly interfering in the domestic US political process in a way which has always been considered entirely inappropriate unless, of course, it is an Israeli politician doing it,” he added.
“The one thing which should be abundantly clear is that Israeli politicians seem to have more of a voice in US policy towards Iran's peaceful nuclear energy program than the 17 agencies comprising the US security apparatus.”
A number of Democratic lawmakers have declared that Boehner’s invitation of Netanyahu has the potential to harm diplomacy with Iran.
On Wednesday, several Jewish Democrats in the House had a heated meeting with Israel's ambassador to Washington, expressing anger over Netanyahu's acceptance to speak before Congress without coordinating with the White House.
The White House has described the invitation as “a breach of protocol” and said President Barrack Obama would not meet with Netanyahu during his visit to Washington next month.
Nevertheless, some analysts say the move by Obama and other Democrats is a “calculated and deceitful strategy” intended to fool public opinion.
“I am quite pleased to see this charade unfold,” Grossman stated. “The American people are not stupid and this can only help advance the public's general level of awareness about the extent to which Israel and Zionists worldwide have co-opted the US political process and, indeed, in no small part, of the security apparatus as well.”
“This staged debate is about as superficial as President Obama's decision not to meet with Netanyahu during his planned visit to the US,” he added.
