Press TV has conducted an interview with Abayomi Azikiwe, an editor of Pan Africa News Wire in Detroit, to discuss the growing militancy in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa.

Azikiwe says that the United States has failed to assist the Abuja government in its fight against the Takfiri Boko Haram terrorists. He says Washington has constantly been refusing to equip the Nigerian military with advanced and sophisticated weapons, which can be helpful in curbing the terrorist activities of the militant group.

However, he said he believes that Nigeria could tackle the rising militancy in close coordination with other regional countries such as Chad and Cameroon.
