A British daily has published a report showing what it describes as the gross inequality plaguing the United Kingdom.

The Independent report compares the income and life expectancy of people in various districts of the capital, London.

According to the paper, the average wage varies from more than 18,000 pounds to over 100,000.

Also, life expectancy varies from 72 to 91, depending on where an individual resides.

The Independent’s report says the richest people in Britain take a greater share of the total wealth than they did at the start of the century.

It says the top 10% of earners possess 54% of total assets. The report concludes that the already wide poverty gap in the UK is getting even broader.
