Debate: War in eastern Ukraine
With a long-standing conflict escalating in eastern Ukraine and the death toll rising, the Ukrainian government and its Western allies have tried to increase the price of the fight upon the people of Ukraine’s east, and Russia to no avail.
With the Russia boogeyman in full gear and on every Westerner’s screens, and sanctions and counter-sanctions being ratcheted up, now NATO has decided that Russia’s strengthening of defensive capabilities is a threat against which NATO must defend itself.
In this edition of the Debate, we will discuss the latest developments regarding the Ukraine conflict, its costs on all sides, and what it means for the future of Ukraine.
To discuss this further, Press TV’s guests Alexander Nekrassov, a former adviser to the Russian government from London, and Ian Williams, a senior analyst at Foreign Policy in Focus from New York, will comment on the issue.
