Debate: What has Israel gained by acts of terror?

What does Israel gain by acts of terror?

Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah has targeted Israeli forces in a retaliatory attack, killing two Israeli soldiers in a surprise attack on an Israeli convoy in the northern occupied territories.

The attack was in retaliation for Israel’s January 18 aggression against Syria’s occupied Golan Heights, in which six Hezbollah fighters and a top Iranian commander were killed.

It is considered to be the worst flare-up between the Lebanese resistance movement and the Israeli regime since Israel’s 2006 war against Lebanon, in which Hezbollah came out victorious.

In this edition of The Debate, we will ask Rania Masri, a human rights activist from the Lebanese capital Beirut, and Geoffrey Alderman, a senior analyst for The Jewish Chronicle from London, what the Israeli regime has achieved by invading Syria, and whether Hezbollah’s retaliatory response proves its military capabilities.
