Israel media joke on icy Obama-Bibi ties

Obama has reportedly deleted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a Facebook friend.

Rising tensions between US president and Israeli prime minister have reached such an obnoxious level that even Israeli media have been prompted to react by offering satirical views on this development.

In a latest writing, the Israeli Daily jokingly announced that Barack Obama has removed Benjamin Netanyahu as a Facebook “friend.”

The icy ties between the two leaders took a turn for the worse after Speaker of the House John Boehner invited the Israeli premier earlier this month to address a joint session of Congress in March.

The move, which is seen as a joint effort to rebuke the Obama administration for diplomacy with Iran, was met with criticism from the White House and Democrats in Congress.

The invitation was extended hours after Obama delivered his sixth State of the Union Address in which he threatened to veto any motion of legislating authorizing new sanctions against Iran amid nuclear talks.

The White House has said that President Obama would not meet Netanyahu during his visit to Washington.

Despite all apparent differences between the two men, it is really a joke to think that Obama and Netanyahu cannot be friends.

On many occasions, the US president has openly supported Israeli premier and a US veto against the Statehood of Palestine, harshly criticizing the Palestinians for joining the International Criminal Court (ICC) to file a case against Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza Strip.
