Iran's Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari has arrived in London to attend an international energy summit alongwith major figures in the energy world.

Ministers, senior officials and representatives of several economic institutions will attend London's international energy meeting which opens on Friday.

Nozari departed for London after attending OPEC's ministerial meeting in Algeria.

A spokesman for UK's Department of Energy and Climate Change told IRNA that about 40 oil and energy ministers from major oil producing and consuming countries will attend the meeting.

He said that the meeting will be studying international cooperation among the world's major oil producing and consuming countries, as well as the impact of the recent global financial crisis on energy and investment markets.

UK Energy and Climate Change Secretary Edward Miliband will be chairman of the meeting and representatives of international oil companies and banks, as well as financial institutions, including the World Bank will attend the gathering.
