Peruvian archaeologists have unearthed an Incan mummy and several ceremonial objects in the pre-Columbian Inca site of Machu Picchu.
The team found gold brooches, ceramic plates and ceramic vessels, decorated in pairs as male and female, representing the concept of Andean duality.
The discovered items will be studied in a laboratory in the city of Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, said head of the archaeology team, Homar Gallegos.
Scientists are slated to study the mummy, found at a site called Torontoy, in order to determine its gender and age, AP reported.
