An Achaemenid goat rhyton
The UNESCO's 1970 convention has finally convinced Romanian cultural officials to return a priceless 3000-year-old goat rhyton to Iran.

The decision was announced following negotiations between Iran's Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization, and a Romanian delegation.

The wild goat rhyton, one of the many found in northern and northwestern Iran had been smuggled into Romania.

According to UNESCO's 1970 convention of illicit import, export and transfer of ownership of cultural property, the States Parties should take appropriate steps to recover and return any such cultural property to the State Party of origin.
