Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei has praised President Ahmadinejad for upholding the values of the Islamic Revolution.

In a meeting with the government officials on Saturday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei pointed to the 'dauntless steps' in the political and economic arena and 'perseverance' as the strong points of President Ahmadinejad and praised him for living up to his campaign promises and upholding the values of the Islamic revolution.

"The president has underlined the ideology of the revolution in a time when the enemies are trying to create a climate of distrust by propagating that the Islamic revolution is losing edge," he added.

The Leader pointed to the active role of the officials in different sectors as a distinctive quality of the current government.

Under such circumstances, the elimination of obstacles in the way of the country's progress requires courageous and calculated measures, he said.

"The petrol rationing scheme is one of the dauntless moves made by the government which is to be continued by the officials."

The Leader's speech was preceded by a comprehensive report of what the government has done in the past 22 months, delivered to the audience by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
